First, There’s the Map

A trip to the top of the world takes a bit of figuring... and planning. There's the map. There's the route. There are the places to stay - because a wilderness state doesn't offer up much in the line of hotels unless your know where you're going. And of course, there are the geocaches and the roads and trails that take you to ground zero. We're hoping to find 69 geocaches on our tri this summer. Lee turns 69 (a fine decade). So it just seemed fitting that we mark this point in time with something out of the ordinary. So why not this trip to the Artic Circle. A place, that as a young boy, always fascinated me. A place of perpetual snow and ice. A place that I had hoped to visit as a Boy Scout on one of those national Jamborees that brought Scouts from all over the world. A little late from that original plan; but at least I get to visit this place of endless summer days and the Northern Lights. Who knows what adventure we'll find along the way.
