What Would Call this Place?

The Big Trip by the numbers. As of today we've covered 42 states, found as many geocaches, dropped as many travel bugs (promoting Columbus Ga), and driven 125 hours. Today is day 17.
The day was spent mostly driving across the plains. It is cattle country. It is horse country. The landscape is dotted with ranches and oil wells, vast expanses of farmland and small towns that are worth a stop to explore.
The mosquitoes are as big as hummingbirds. We had stopped roadside to snap a picture or two of a salvage yard, and quickly abandoned that idea when the skitters swarmed. It reminded me of the commercial for insect repellent, when the test subject sticks his arm Into the box filled with "biting mosquitos."
Tomorrow is another long drive between geocaches. Heading south across Arkansas to Louisiana before making that turn to head east and home.
Just six more stops.
